Racing on The Edge by Shey Stahl

Hey there fellow readers and book lovers!! I know I know it’s been a few days since my last blog entry but I’ve been a bit busy. My birthday was on the 29th so of course I had to go out and hang out with my friends and family. On top of that my last race of the season was this weekend as well!! Racing? I bet you’re wondering what I mean! Well a small little fact about me is that I race go karts on the weekend. No, not those go karts that you ride at fairs and pay like ten dollars to drive. I mean go karts made for speed and actually racing.

I’ve been racing for almost ten years but I’ve grown up around racing my whole life! My grandpa used to build racecars, my dad and uncle race, even my little brother Brendan who is nine, races. We are just one big racing family! I figured giving you this bit of information about me would be a good segue into the series of books I plan on talking about today because if you haven’t noticed they are about racing.
The series of books I am going to be talking about are the Racing on the Edge series which was written by Shey Stahl. This series consists of five books following the lives of NASCAR driver Jameson Riley and his childhood friend Sway Reins.

Jameson has always been about the rush, the adrenaline and the speed. At a young age he exhibited his racing talent and it took off from there. Sway, whose father owned a racetrack in Washington, stood on the sidelines and watched Jameson week after week conquer the dirt race track with skill and style. However through all their time growing up they never became more than just friends. But when Sway leaves to go to college for a few years and returns what happens when she realizes Jameson is a big time NASCAR driver on his way to becoming a legend?
Stahl does a great job in following the life and career of fictitious character Jameson and his family and friends. Sometimes while I was reading I’d forget that these were just characters and not actual human beings. She combines humor, drama, love, heartbreak, family, and adrenaline into a really great racing series!
Even if you’re not a big racing fan that’s ok!!! I promise because it is suitable for all sorts of readers! Even those who like, shall we say, intimate moments between characters. Definitely a must read!! You won’t be sorry!!!!
