Lucy Ricardo or Dog the Bounty Hunter?

Well readers, sorry it took me forever and a day to get back on here, but I am back and that is all that matters!!!! I’ve read a lot of great books these past few months and I can’t wait to share them with you!!!!!

I hope everyone had an awesome New Year and that they made some really good resolutions. J I know one of my goals for this New Year is that I have to read at least 25 books. In 2013 I read 75, but I will be going to UW-Milwaukee this year to finish my degree in biochemistry and let’s be real during a school semester there isn’t a lot of time for reading unless it’s a text book. That’s why I chose 25 for the 2014 year.

Now without further adieu I will introduce this amazing series of books that I encountered. They are called the Stephanie Plum Series written by JanetEvanovich. No the series has 20 books in it, which yes it does seem like an insane amount of books in a series, but honestly once you start reading them you won’t be able to put them down! I know I couldn’t.

This series chronicles the insanely lucky, yet dangerously chaotic life of Stephanie Plum. Stephanie was married for all of ten minutes, got laid off from her lingerie job and due to desperate measures had to work for her weasely cousin Vinny as an apprehension agent, or better known as a bounty hunter. The series takes place in Trenton, New Jersey, where the summers are hot and the criminals are in surplus.

Now I bet you’re thinking of Dog the Bounty hunter with his luscious long hair and leather clothes racing around town trying to catch the bad guys, but that is not at all how this series is. Stephanie, well she’s a mess, and most of the time you read and you just shake your head and laugh because seriously Stephanie is the modern day Lucy Ricardo; well minus the housewife aspect and the well furnished home. As Ethel is to Lucy, Lula is to Stephanie. Lula is Stephanie’s assistant and those two could give Laurel and Hardy a run for their money!

She is a heavyset African American with a wardrobe that shouts “I love color!” on a regular basis. She really is a love hate character. She is funny and she’s gotten Stephanie out of trouble several times, but she also gets her into a lot of trouble too. Now, I guess would be a good time to introduce Ricky Ricardo in this analogy, or should I say Ricky Ricardos, since there are two amazingly hot men in stephanies life! :-O
Joe Morelli, is a non uniformed police officer, who was a fugitive, and is Stephanie’s on again off again boyfriend. He’s hot, he has his own home, a dog named Bob, and everything a girl would want. However, then there is Ranger. Ranger is six feet of muscled goodness that is the epitome of maleness. So when Stephanie is in the off again stage with Joe who better to fill the bed than with a very successful, mysterious Ranger?

I could go on forever about the characters that bring this series to life because believe they all make the series what it is, but it would also take pages to describe them all. I say the best way to get to know Evanovich’s amazing characters is to go pick up her books and read them! They will leave you laughing, on the edge of your seat, and wanting to be a bounty hunter yourself!!

Evanovich also wrote some in between books, but I haven’t quite read them yet, but believe me I will get into those as well!!! I will probably write another blog consisting of those that way they get their time in the light as well!

Also they created a movie for One for the Money and it was actually pretty awesome! Katherine Heigl stars as Stephanie Plum and it can be found on Netflix! Look into seriously!!!

I think this will be all for tonight!!!

Keep turning those pages!
